Affordable Alaskan Dental care in Big Lake

To say that oral health is essential is simply an understatement. Doing far more than improving your looks, practicing good oral hygiene, and getting primary dental care are necessities that everyone should have access to, as it directly affects our overall health and well-being.

Good dental health helps you avoid disease and saves you from painful, embarrassing and usually, expensive tooth loss. However, left unchecked, it can result in life-altering illnesses that can lead to more and higher expenses.

The problem, however, is that not everyone has access to quality and affordable dental care—let alone a dental clinic in the first place. Luckily, if you're in the Big Lake, Alaska area, then the team at Mat-Su Health Services Inc. is committed to providing just that for you and your family. Here’s how.

About Us

When it comes to healthcare, the usual concern made by people are whether it's affordable and of high quality—and the same holds for dental care. Unfortunately, we live in a world where easy access to healthcare for everyone is still far from reach, and the usual assumption is that if something is good, it must be expensive. But while that may be true for other things, that shouldn't be the case for dental care, and that is what we aim to do through our practice.

Here at Mat-Su Health Services Inc., we believe that everyone should be included and that no one should be denied good service just because of their inability to pay the usual exorbitant prices that come with healthcare.

This belief traces back to our humble beginnings in 1977 when we started as a community mental health center. Through this center, our staff managed to provide continuous community mental health services for three decades, later growing to become a federally qualified health center that provides all types of primary health services in 2005.

This belief in the importance of a community where no one gets left behind has allowed us to endure the changing times and provide care and support for the locals. Today, we offer all sorts of care for people with different needs, in addition to prevention, early intervention, rehabilitation, and education.

Affordable Dental Care and Community Service for Alaskan Natives

As a health center, our services include general family medicine, behavioral health, women's health care, and of course, dental care.

Despite numerous actions being taken to provide better dental care to the people of Alaska and successful implementation of dental health aide training to the local areas, there are still neighborhoods that sadly lack communal support, health care, or otherwise. As such, Mat-Su Health Services Inc. works hard to provide this missing support in the Big Lake area and other surrounding communities.

Our health center provides affordable and reliable dental care to locals, whether they are insured. At the moment, we offer:

●      Diagnosis and treatment planning

●      Routine dental examinations

●      Emergency examinations and services

●      Digital X-rays (less radiation exposure than traditional X-rays)

●      Cleanings (general and deep cleanings)

●      Sealants (to prevent cavities in children and teens)

●      Restorative dentistry (fillings)

●      Partial and full dentures

●      General dental check-ups

●      Dental extractions (tooth removal)

And because we model our services after communal care, any local or resident without insurance or who is currently under insured can walk in anytime and schedule a dental appointment at our locations in Wasilla, AK, or Big Lake, AK.

Additionally, our rates are also based on family size and income, which means everyone gets an equal opportunity at quality dental care. We do this via our price transparency system, where anyone can request an estimate of the charges that we will anticipate for your visit before you even enter our doors.

Through this, you will be able to find out just how much you'll be paying, as well as the type of discounts you are eligible for based on your income. If you wish to learn more about our sliding discount system, how you can qualify, and what you need to bring, you may visit our Insured and Uninsured Patients page here.

Our dentists and dental hygienists also have years of experience under their belts. They are committed to using that experience to provide exceptional and gentle care for all our patients. That said, we also believe that good dental health starts right at home, long before you enter our doors. This is why our dentists, and all of our health practitioners and medical professionals, always make it a point to educate our patients in ways they can take care of their oral and overall health. Additionally, we also produce educational blog posts on our website that tackle different health topics, from learning about early signs of tooth decay, to signs that it's time for tooth extraction, and everything in between.

Dental Care, Done the Affordable Way

It’s become more important than ever to provide quality and affordable healthcare for everyone. However, times are changing, and it's time that dental care and, by default, healthcare chart a new course towards better accessibility.

We here at Mat-Su Health Services Inc. aim to do just that, one individual and community at a time. So, if you wish to learn more and live in the Big Lake area, set up an appointment today.
