About Us

Mat-Su Health Services, Inc. (MHS) began as a Community Mental Health Center in 1977 and has provided community health services continuously for the last 30+ years to the Mat-Su Borough under a variety of names. You may know us as LifeQuest or even Behavioral Services of Mat-Su. We grew to become a Community Health Center to provide primary healthcare to the Greater Wasilla/Meadow Lakes area in October 2005 and changed our name to reflect our new variety of services. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

What is a Community Health Center?

A CHC is committed to improving the health of its community. Health is broadly defined as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not simply the absence of disease or infirmity. The mission of a CHC is to achieve good health for the individuals served, community service, strongly emphasize prevention, early intervention, rehabilitation, and education in addition to direct care. We receive federal funding through the Health Resources and Services Administration and are also known as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
